Pet of the Week
Pet Of The Week
Meet Reggie
Reggie was found on the side of the road, discarded. A good samaritan picked him up and tried hard to find his owners. Lawton Animal Welfare then tried for weeks to find his owner with no luck. Reggie was scared to be left alone and became lethargic and wasnt doing well. We took him in and couldnt believe that his owner never came foward in the weeks he was missing because he has such a sweet soul. And then his foster mom noticed that Reggie wasnt doing too good so she took him into Beavers Animal Hospital and they ran some tests on him and the results that came back explained why Reggies owners never came forward and why he was abandoned. Reggie has test positive for heartworms and looks as though he has had them for several months. So we immediately started treatment for Reggie at Beavers Animal Hospital. He was an impatient for 3 days with injections straight to the heart. He is home now and on week 3 of his 6 week bed rest before he goes back and does the procedure over again. Reggie is a very sweet man that is terrified to be alone and hates being on bed rest but with his amazing foster by his side helping him every step of the day, we believe he will survive this! 68% of dogs die from heartworms even with treatment and 1 pill a month could of prevented Reggie from this sickness. If you would like to donate to Reggie's care then please do so below. And his foster could always use words of encouragement to help Reggie through this difficult time so please comment some affirmations below and keep Reggie in your prayers that he survives this horrific disease! |

If you are interested in adopting this sweet girl, please contact Sandra at 580-585-7302. |

ASCO - M, Collie mix, 3 months old. Asco knows how to work the system. He'll stare deep into your soul until you're compelled to rub his belly, give him a treat and hand over all your money. He came from a hoarding situation with over a dozen other puppies, but he has adjusted well to a quieter life. Asco is crate trained and doing well with potty training. He loves to chew on bones (and some things he isn't supposed to), and he is very treat motivated. Asco is neutered, up-to-date on age-appropriate shots, microchipped, kid-friendly and dog-friendly. To learn more about Asco, call or text 580-695-5041. |
ADOPTED!
DARCY - F, DSH, Siamese Mix, approximately 4 months old. Darcy is one of a litter of four that lived outside for the first 3 months of her life. She will cry if she is alone so the ideal situation would be for her to be adopted with a sibling. She is a lap kitten and is always purring. She is litter box trained, spayed, FeLV/FIV negative and up to date on her vaccinations. If you are interested in making this little girl part of your family, please call or text Sandra at 580-585-7302. |
STILL NEEDS A HOME!
CREEK - M, Supermutt, 3-4 years old. Creek was found dumped in the country. He was heartworm positive at the time but has already completed all of his treatment. The heartworm treatment delayed his neuter date, so Creek took matters into his own hands. He hopped a chain link fence and got his "little Creek" stuck in the prongs. After emergency surgery, a stern lecture and some not-so-fun recovery time, Creek is all healed and ready for his forever home! Creek is *professionally* neutered, kennel trained, potty trained, up-to-date on shots and microchipped. He gets along with medium/large dogs and loves cats. He does not like adult intact male dogs or small dogs(we think his big scar along his body is from being attacked by the ankle biters so he holds a vendetta). He loves to wrestle, play tag, and thrash around with his toys, and he would do best in a home without small children. If you'd like to meet Creek, please text his foster at 580-483-4028. PRIVACY FENCE REQUIRED for adoption. |
ADOPTED!
LEVI - M, Chihuahua, 6 years old, 16 pounds and slimmin' down. Mix a Chihuahua with a bean bag chair and you'll get something that resembles Levi. He has a master's degree in Couch Potato and a minor in Grouchy Old Man. This hefty heart-stealer loves his squeaky toys, and he gets along with other dogs. He's not a fan of cats but he is warming up to them. Levi wants a home where he can do his own thing, get pet on his terms, take brisk walks in the yard and bark at birds through the window. Levi is neutered, potty-trained, up-to-date on all things medical and microchipped. If you'd like to learn more about this beefy bowling ball, call or text 580-483-4947. |
ADOPTED!
QUINTON - M, DSH, Gray/White, approximately 4 months old. Quinton and his litter mates were born to a feral momma cat who decided to bring them all (3 kittens) to a porch in Walters and promptly leave them behind. They were turned over to the humane society when they were about 4 weeks old. Though “Q” was fostered with other cats, and was held and petted often, he has never turned into a friendly sort of fellow. He’s cute and healthy but would not make a good pet to snuggle with. However, he would make an awesome mouser; though not the outside kind. He’s an “in the house” mouser type of cat, only because he has never been outside. He wouldn’t know how to protect himself from things that want to harm him. He loves to play with the other cats, loves to scampers through the house, and he’ll hide under the blanket on the couch where he thinks no one can see him. He’s litter box trained, neutered, FeLV/FIV negative and up to date on his vaccinations. If you are interested in putting this guy to work ridding your home and/or garage of mice, please contact Donna at 580-695-0206. |
ADOPTED!
DAISY - F, Heeler mix, Approx 1 yr old. Daisy is a beautiful, energetic dog that tries to charm every person she meets. She would make an amazing companion for an active couple or someone searching for a running partner. Daisy LOVES going for walks, but she still needs some work with patience and leash manners. She thinks the world is hers to explore, and she wants to tackle it full force! Daisy would do best in a home without small children or other dogs, but she has been fine with older children. Daisy is crate trained, potty trained, spayed, UTD on vaccines and microchipped. If you'd like your life to blossom with entertainment, Daisy is the girl for you! Contact 253-720-6448 to schedule a meet and greet. |
ADOPTED1
EMMIE - F, DSH, Orange/White, approximately 4 years old. Emmie loves to play fetch and brings toys to you to throw for her. I call her a floppy girl because she will flip onto her back and looks adorable. She is very very sweet, but is nervous around new people so will need a little time to adjust to her new family. She is litter box trained, spayed, FeLV/FIV negative and up to date on her vaccinations. If you are interested in adopting this great girl, please contact Sandra at 580-585-7203. |
ADOPTED!
GUCCI - M, German Shepherd, 3 years old. He is neutered, UTD on vaccines, and microchipped. He is also heartworm and fecal negative. He has been through training classes but needs a little brushing up. He does great on walks and car rides. He is well mannered in a home but used to being kenneled when his people are gone. He was surrendered due to no fault of his own. He is a great dog but does have a few faults. He also must be the only pet in the home and also have a privacy fence. If you would like to meet this goofball, please contact Brandi at 580-483-4028. |
ADOPTED!

He will jump into the cat food container, try and steal your food, and climb into the trash can. He is as rotten as can be, which his foster mom really Loves about him. He loves other cats but has ne er been around dogs. He is litter box trained, neutered, FeLV/FIV negative and up to date on his vaccinations. If you are interested in adopting this sweet boy, please contact Sandra at 580-585-7302. |

He gets along with most pets as long as he has a gradual transition period. To learn more about adopting Trigger, please contact his foster at 405-328-4577. |

TWINKIE - F, German Shepherd, 10 months old. Vaccinated, microchipped, and spayed. Twinkie is friendly and loves attention from all people, but isn’t aware of her size so a home with with older kids would be best. She’s a little shy around new dogs, but will be playing with them after a few days. She is good with cats inside but does have a prey drive if they are outside. This super sweet girl loves long walks, attention from all people, and rides beautifully in a car. She’s still learning what it means to be a pet and is learning leash manners and house training, but is crate trained and will follow you around the house. Previous German Shepherd experience is a bonus, needs a 6 foot wood fence, and an physically active household. If you would like to meet this oversized sweet treat, please text 910-238-6676. |
ADOPTED!
PEEWEE - F, DSH, Brown Tabby, approximately 5 months old. PeeWee and her brothers were found in Indiahoma and taken in by the Humane Society when they were about three weeks old. DAHLIA - F, Lab/heeler mix, 6 yrs old, 64 lbs. Dahlia, aka Dolly, is a timid soul who has overcome unthinkable odds. She was discovered with a pack of dogs, all covered in mange with barely any fur. Dahlia and her foster brother Boss Hog are the last remaining members of the Mange Crew to find their forever homes. Dahlia is UTD on shots, spayed, microchipped, and fully house trained. She will need a slow transition to feel safe and secure, but once she lets down her guard, she's sure to be a beloved member of the family. Dahlia enjoys playing with other dogs once she gets familiar with them. She even likes to sneak treats when her foster mom isn't looking! Dahlia would love to be adopted with her foster brother Boss Hog. They conquered homelessness, mange and malnourished together. Now they're ready for a life of relaxation. Individual applications will be considered, but joint applications will take top priority. If you would like to meet Dahlia and/or Boss Hog, call or text 580-919-1716 |
ADOPTED!
PATCH - M, Pit bull mix, Approx 6 months old. Patch has a fast-paced rags to riches story that's unlike any other. In less than a month, he went from a patchwork quilt of scabs and missing fur to a blanket of bonafide beauty. Patch is crate trained, mostly potty trained, neutered, microchipped, and up to date on vaccines. Patch does well with children, but he would do best in a home without other animals. As he has regained his confidence, he's developed some aggression toward other animals - likely the result of his terribly traumatic past. He wants nothing more than to have his "person" to protect for years to come. If you'd like to meet this pauper-turned-prince, contact Tiffany at 253-720-6448. |
ADOPTED!
MAUS - M, DSH, Grey/White Tabby, approximately 2 years old. A sweet woman found Maus lost, scared, and living alone in some bushes. When Maus first arrived at my home he was quit apprehensive and hid a lot. Slowly but surely he began to realize he was in a safe space and has evolved into a loving, playful, and quirky companion. He boasts a pretty grey and white coat, with an unusual stubby tail. Maus is simply not a snuggler... although he is still very loving. His quirky personality makes him a bit of an oddball preferring to flop himself down on the floor, roll over, and beg to be petted and doted on. He believes breakfast is the most important meal of the day, and occasionally begins his mornings with a playful romp thru the house racing from one room to another. He also enjoys playing with toys (strings, bells, catnip, etc.), bird watching out the window and is fond of dark, inconspicuous spaces for his afternoon siesta. Maus is indifferent when it comes to my 2 dogs, but I have not experienced him interact with other cats. He has a clean bill of health, is litter box trained, neutered, FeLV/FIV negative, dewormed, and up to date on vaccinations. If you are interested in this sweet, and charming guy please contact Krista 580-475-6924. |
STILL NEEDS A HOME!
KAREY MARIE - F, DSH, Calico, approximately 4 years old. Karey Marie is a sweet girl who will love her human companion. If you are interested in adopting this great gal, please contact Jan at (580) 678-0046. |
Adopted!
KOMMO- M, Boxer, 10 years. Kommo is a sweet old guy looking for the perfect family to spend the rest of his life with. His favorite pastimes include napping and hanging out with his foster family. He is gentle, slow moving, and smart. To say that he is a special dog is an understatement. Kommo came to us severely emaciated, dehydrated, and in all around bad shape. After lots of love, attention, and care he has developed the personality of an old soul. A special dog requires a special family. He does well with other dogs, but would do best in a home with dogs that are mellow and understand personal boundaries. He's great with kids, but the same rule applies. He needs a quiet calm home to rest his head. Because of his senior age, it goes without saying that Kommo will eventually possible require further vet care, so that is something we want his forever family to be ready for. He is fixed, microchipped and UTD on vaccinations. For more information about Kommo please contact Janina at (719) 287-9965 |
STILL NEDDS A HOME!
REMI - F, Tan/White, approximately 4 1/2 years old. Remi is a sweet girl who is a tad bit in the shy side. She is a cat that can totally entertain herself. If you are interested in making this girl, part of your family, please contact Jan at (580) 678-0046. |

COLE - M, border collie mix, approximately 4 months. Cole is a very playful, smart and a sweet fella. He learns quickly with that border collie intelligence, but he can be very stubborn because he's smarter than most humans. Cole plays fetch and tug of war. He knows sit, down and is working on perfecting stay. Cole is already 26 lbs, so he will most likely be a big boy. He loves other dogs his size or bigger, but hasn't been exposed to cats or smaller dogs. Cole is crate trained and does great with house training as long as his humans remember to let him out regularly. Cole needs a home to continue to work with him on obedience and a fenced in yard. Border collies have energy that just doesn't stop. Cole will need a lot of physical and mental exercise to use that intelligence for good. When he is older, he will go for a 3-mile run in the morning, followed by an afternoon hike and playing fetch in the evening. Cole is up to date on age appropriate vaccines, neutered and microchipped. If you are interested in completing the puppy questionnaire please text Kristen at 610-500-4830 |
ADOPTED!
REX - M, Rottweiler Mix, approximately 6 months old and weighs 55 lbs. This handsome young guy is UTD on all vaccines, potty trained, negative for all parasites including heartworm, neutered and microchipped. He is a lovable and very energetic pup who will grow into an even-more-lovable adult dog. He enjoys cuddles and belly rubs but he ADORES his toys even more. His living room is usually covered in toys. He does great on a leash and with other dogs (big and little). Even though he's great on a leash he needs a large yard to run because a walk will not be enough for this healthy, active guy! Rex will thrive in a household with someone that is home alot because he does not like being in a kennel but he is house trained and can be trusted to free roam at night. To learn more about Rex or request a meet-and-greet, contact his foster, Jessica: 757-419-9911. |

Betsy did not let her rough start impact her loving personality. Betsy loves to snuggle and get belly rubs. Now that she is feeling better, she loves to race around and wrestle with her furry foster brother and telling her foster family when she wants attention. Betsy has discovered a passion for playing tug of war and is learning to play fetch. Betsy is house trained and crate trained. She is up to date on vaccines, heartworm negative, parasite free, spayed and microchipped. She knows sit and paw. She loves to go for walks and is doing well on a leash, but will need continued training. Betsy needs to go to a home with people knowledgeable with her breed. She is very smart and high energy, so a family looking to include Betsy in their active lifestyle would be preferred. Betsy is people and kid friendly, but may be a bit too much energy for a home with small children because she is still learning not to jump when excited. Best as an only dog. If you are interested in meeting Betsy, please text Kristen 610-500-4830. |
